Beauty queen, Miss Carmelitha Akieh, the reigning 2015/2016 Miss NGO Nigeria, Advocate for Peace recently granted an exclusive interview with Ini Michael's Blog where she talked about her mission, vision, challenges and her quest to positively impact the lives of all and sundry. Read the full interview below...

Good day,  please may we know you ?
I'm Queen Carmelita Akieh, Miss NGO Nigeria Advocate for Peace, I'm from Etsako east local government area, Agenebode to be precise in Edo state.

Educational background?
I had all my formative years in Kano. I mean from Crèche to University. I attended St. Louis Nursery and Primary School then proceeded to St. Louis Secondary School and finally Bayero University Kano where I earned a BA in  English Language.

What's your mission and vision statement?
My mission is to serve individuals, families and communities that are less privileged in Nigeria while my vision is equality for all and sundry in Nigeria.

What are your past and recent projects?
In terms of projects, I have ceaseless numbers running and are still current with more revealing ones to come.

Hobbies, likes, dislikes, challenges and worst moments?
I am an extrovert. I love reading, writing, sightseeing, transparency and dislike deceit. My challenges are quite numerous but I'll use lackadaisical or lukewarm attitude towards charity calls as an umbrella term to describe them all. My worst moment was when the news of my Dad's death was delivered to me back then on the 22nd of November, 2000.

Oh oh accept my condolence
Thank you.

Are you in a relationship?
Yes, I am in a lovely relationship.

Hmm, who is the lucky guy?
(Laughs) I'll tell you behind the scene.

I see you're also humorous?
Oh yeah! Naturally endowed with that gift from God.

Are you presently in Kano?
Yes I am and this time, for a more heartbreaking and life touching mission.

Please share
Hmm! He wants to know it all. OK. I'm taking in scenes from where NO beauty Queen has thought of and bringing to life that part which has being neglected. Follow up closely on my activities to find out what this is. (Laughs) I love surprises.

When were you crowned and when does your term end?
I was crowned Miss NGO Nigeria Advocate for Peace 2015 / 2016 on the 29th of November, 2015 and will be handing over same month this year by God's grace.
What's your advice to aspiring Models and beauty Queens?
Everyone aspiring to be a model or Beauty Queen, there is more to the glam and glitz attached to either the career as a model or crown as a Beauty Queen. Set goals and make sure you PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens). There are no shortcuts to success and limelight.

Why modelling for you?
Very good question. It is modelling for me because the word "model" to me goes beyond showcasing for others to flourish, rather I see it as a need to shine the light and create an impact via a provided platform.

OK. So you are not in it for the money,  glitz n fame?
Absolutely yes! I'm in for the number of lives I'm able to empower, touch and affect positively.

Valentine's day at IDP's camp, New Kuchingoro, Area 1 Abuja

I'm motivated, buying the next form
Please do and it is not about purchasing a form but having the zeal to render self service and not self glory.

What's your take on the present economic situation in the country?
A powerful question it is; but I don't want to say anything now and later the Oga at the top will start looking for me even when he knows that I belong to everybody and belong to nobody in particular.

(Laughs) Thanks for your time and all the best in your endeavours
Anytime, the pleasure is all mine.
